Principals

Chinh Bui, PhD, MBA, MS, PE

Dr. Bui is a registered professional engineer (PE) with over 40 years of progressively responsible technical and management experience in areas of safety risk assessment and quality compliance.

Experience:
Complementing his responsibilities as co-founder of Sons Specialty Gas, LLC, Dr. Bui has accumulated a broad range of comprehensive engineering and business experience over the years in the following capacities:

  • Chairman on the 360 Federal Credit Union Board of Directors (present). Dr. Bui has been a member of the 360 Federal Credit Union Board of Directors for over 20 years and has also served on its Assets & Liabilities (ALCO) committee for the past several years.
  • Leading positions within The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME): as Chair of the Interdisciplinary Council (*IC), The Engineering Technical Management Group (ETMG), Chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) and Chairman of Safety Engineering and Risk Analysis Division (SERAD).
  • Instructor of graduate-level Engineering courses and the Professional Engineering (PE) program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and various engineering disciplines at the University of Hartford. Dr. Bui is also Gold certified ITO professor at Raytheon Technologies Corporation (RTC), where he taught relentless root cause analysis and mistake proofing as part of RTC's corporate quality initiative.
  • Collins Aerospace Management Club in various positions from club Treasurer, first Vice-President to President (1999)
  • Sought-after for his breadth of knowledge experience in engineering and business, Dr. Bui is invited to speak at conferences, and has made various appearances as guest speaker at the Global Engineering Management Conference and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

    Dr. Bui holds a Ph.D. in Organization and Management, MBA, MS in Computer Engineering, MS in Electrical Engineering and BS in Electrical Engineering.



    Kim Bui, MS, BS

    Ms. Bui (Kim) is co-founder of Sons Specialty Gas, LLC, and possesses over 30 years of experience in the commercial gas industry from the production compressed gases, medical gases, gas specialty, and gas equipment to their distribution for manufacturers, hospitals, and corporations.

    Experience:
    Customers appreciate Kim's ability to efficiently strategize, execute, and deliver on customers' gas needs by intersecting her scientific and business background with her understanding of a business's practical needs and workflow.

    Kim has accumulated broad and diverse experience in the gas industry, having spent her earlier years in the Industrial Hygiene and Environmental Health. In her later years, she served as Senior Chemist and then managed the Gas Specialty Laboratory.

    Kim has a great wealth of knowledge in the areas of Industrial, Military, NASA, and FDA gas regulations, and uses this knowledge to ensure that gas quality and compliance requirements are met.

    Credentials:
    Kim holds a BS in Chemist and MS in Management.
